About
Digger Anchor Company:
Digger Anchor Company was started in 1993 by Dick Zetah in an effort
to find a better boat anchor. This is the first real innovation in
boat anchors in many years. With this new anchor, no chain is needed
to set the anchor in any condition, whether it is in rocks, mud or
sand. The patented Digger on the casting helps to pull the main flukes
into the bottom of the lake or rivers keeping you on your favorite
fishing spots.
Donnie Lahr purchased the company in 2000 and moved the manufacturing
to Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Improvements were made to the handle and
the shape of the casting to give it even more holding power and increase
the durability overall in the anchor.
Introduced the salt water in 2001 in the #12 and #15 size. In 2005,
Digger Anchor Company introduced the Digger 2, a lower cost anchor
with the same holding ability, without the trip mechanism. This anchor
will set on a 2-1angle requiring very little rope to get great holding
power. It makes an excellent second anchor for the larger boats and
has great holding for smaller boats up to 30 feet.
There has been overwhelming interest in the addition of the Digger
2. Digger Anchor Company sells direct to retail stores and eliminates
the cost of the Distributor. Sales have increased steadily each year.
