As a catfish and walleye guide and Captain on the Red River of the North, I have learned the importance of a quick setting, hard holding and easily retrievable anchor system. Over the past 20 years I have tried many anchors and cleats and the Digger Anchor and cleat system outshines them all for rivers as well as lakes. The adjustable tension on the trip release mechanism on the Digger Anchor is a key innovation that has resulted on a zero loss rate for achors for my guiding service since I started using them. Prior to that I often would lose 2-3 anchor a year due to being locked up tightly to a snag, with no hope of release. I do not have to carry a spare now, as I do not fear losing my Digger. I would also highly recommend the Digger Anchor Cleat. These cleats are built for years of tough use for not only anchors, but for dock lines, bumpers, drift socks...you name it. The Digger Cleat has the versatility and bite to hold firmly to all types of ropes fro 3/8" to 5/8". The open access design makes it easy to use in low light conditions and in cold weather when manual dexterity is often challenged. Captain Ed "Backwater Eddy" Carlson |
