Donnie,
I would like to compliment you and your company on a fine product in the
Digger Anchor.
I have a 25 foot SeaRay with a 5800 pound dry weight and purchased your
15 pound anchor three years ago.
I purchased your product as a stop gap measure as I recently lost my much
more expensive Fortress anchor in the St. Croix river. I purchased the
Digger Anchor to get me by for a weekend ad figured that later I would
purchase another expensive anchor to use as the main anchor and revert
the lower cost Digger Anchor as a backup. Neither I or anyone else boated
with or had ever heard of the anchor so I must confess I chose it primarily
because of the price.
To make a long story short, the one weekend I used the Digger as m main
anchor has now stretched to three years as I cannot in any way justify
buying a more expensive anchor. The holding power is fantastic. It is
quite commonplace for me to drop anchor on the SeaRay and have two to
three same size or larger boats tie to me! Basically we’re talking
about one 15 pound anchor holding these boats simultaneously: 25’
SeaRay, 26’ Christ Craft, 25’ Formula.
On occasion we have even had one or two smaller boats tie up on the outside.
While the St. Croix river is not notoriously rough, during a weekend around
Stillwater it is not uncommon to have 24 to 30 inch waves roll in as boats
up to 50’ criss cross the river. The river has been rough enough
during these times that it has loosened up the cleats used to tie the
boats together while the Digger Anchor keeps holding!
Another big plus to the holding power of the Digger is that, even though
the recommended amount of line for optimal anchoring is labeled on the
Digger, you can actually use a lot less line and hold very easily making
the actual amount of work required to anchor a lot less. There are not
many anchors with which I am comfortable anchoring over night for fear
of the anchor letting go while I am sleeping. With the Digger I can sleep
with ease as I am completely at ease with it’s holding power.
You have an excellent product. Thank you.
